About Point
Founded in 1937 as Atlanta Christian College, Point University is a private, four-year liberal arts institution preparing students to influence culture for Christ in all spheres of life – through business, church, government, arts and entertainment, education, media and family.
With an enrollment of more than 1,200 students, Point University offers degree programs in areas of study ranging from biblical studies to biology. The Access program offers associate and bachelor’s degrees for adult learners, as well as online courses. The University provides a broad, comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare students for their chosen professions. Just as importantly, the University equips students to take their faith into the marketplace in new and culturally relevant ways – to erase the lines between who they are and what they do so that they see life and mission as one and the same.
The University’s historic campus is located in East Point, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. In spring 2012, the traditional, residential campus relocated to West Point, Ga., just an hour away near the Alabama border. The East Point location will continue to operate as a site for Access, the adult degree program. The University currently has off-site locations in Peachtree City and Savannah.
Point University’s students are part of a growing, vibrant community of believers who support and encourage one another, representing a variety of Christian faith backgrounds. At Point, professors and students know each other by name – and build relationships that last a lifetime. Students are encouraged to serve others, whether through a mission trip across the globe or an urban service project. Students are also encouraged to get involved on campus, where activities include a variety of social, service, athletic and performing arts organizations. Point’s athletic teams participate in intercollegiate competition at the NAIA level.
Point University graduates are working and serving in 43 states, three U.S. territories, more than 15 foreign countries, and with numerous campus ministries, Christian camps and churches. Whether called to full-time ministry or another career, Point University graduates are going into all the world to live and love and serve in a way that makes Jesus visible… that makes the Gospel visible… that makes the cross visible to a world in need.
Point University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award the associate and baccalaureate degrees.
